Our story

It all started when…

Ronan realised that his engineer job wasn’t as fulfilling as it should have been.
It was time for him to change path and pursue his main passion: making people happy with good food. Anxious but excited he started a professional training in Paris, while working in Michelin restaurants Lazare and l’Assiette.

But Ronan’s Brittany origins and his belief in simple yet well-crafted food lead him to pass by O11ze crêperie kitchen before leaving to travel the world.
In Japan he worked in a brand new Belgian Café, BelWaffle, serving delicious waffles in Fukuoka while mastering the local language (at least trying to).

Now based in Auckland, he decided to take ownership of his skills and recipes to set up a food truck with his long-time partner in crime Adeline. While Captain Ronan is steering the ship from its biligs (crêpe makers), Adeline is the compass-master making sure that they are always sailing in the right direction and holding on their core values of excellence and sustainability.

Since April 2019, Captain Crêpes has embraced the vintage charm of Victoria Park Market where his new café is now open on weekdays!

Selling delicious crêpes made from the best local ingredients, spreading happiness with this particular French flavour is Captain Crepes' mission.

Work like a captain, play like a pirate.
